Victoria Wilmotte
Victoria Wilmotte has a unique take on the domestic world, and approaches her work as a designer from a sculptural perspective.
Victoria Wilmotte was born in Paris in 1985. After studying interior design at the Camondo School, she left for London to study design at the Royal College of Art under the direction of Ron Arad. She opened her studio on her return to Paris in 2008.
Victoria has always nurtured a particular interest in materials, shapes and manufacturing processes, both industrial and artisanal. Minerals and steel are media she is particularly fond of. A methodical and microscopic fascination that could be compared more to that of a sculptor. With straight lines and sculpted angles, the contrasts of solids and voids allows Victoria to present a unique view of the domestic world which remains her area of interest today.
For Matière Grise, Victoria Wilmotte has created the Wind nested tables. 3 tables and 3 shapes with ripples on their surface, like a wave on the waters blown by the wind.
